How GetCafePOS works in the UAE

Tax
UAE VAT is 5%. Menu prices are shown VAT-inclusive, as consumers expect, and receipts show the VAT amount and your TRN (tax registration number). Tax groups let you set zero-rated or exempt items if you sell any.
Currency & formats
UAE dirham (AED), two decimals on receipts; day/month/year dates.
Payments
Cards and Apple Pay or Google Pay through your bank’s or processor’s terminal; cash; custom tenders for delivery-app settlements so reports reconcile.
Languages
Arabic and English are standard on receipts; Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog and Malayalam are common among counter staff — the register can run per user in the language they read best.
How to reach us
WhatsApp is the main sales and support channel, then phone. We answer on WhatsApp during UAE desk hours.
Trading week
Working week Monday–Friday since 2022, with Friday-afternoon prayer timing; weekends (Saturday–Sunday) and evenings are peak for cafes. Ramadan shifts trade to after iftar — store hours can change for the month.
Receipts
Bilingual Arabic/English receipts with VAT shown and your TRN, right-to-left Arabic printed correctly.

What’s different about selling coffee here

  • Dubai’s specialty scene (Al Quoz, JLT, Jumeirah, Business Bay) is crowded — speed at the counter and your own order-ahead link matter.
  • Marketplace delivery apps charge commissions; a direct pickup store keeps margin.
  • Foodics and other regional POS start around AED 750 per terminal per month on published third-party figures.
